Frankfurt Motor Show 2009
Frankfurt Motor Show was officially opened on 15th September 2009. Europe’s largest automobile exhibition is dominated by electric cars. Unlike the electric cars offered by Japanese companies, electric car made in Germany still emphasizes performance and also a model that is no less interesting than the gasoline-fueled cars.
Renault show off four new types of electric cars that one of them will go on sale in 2011. Mercedes Benz makes hybrid cars Mercedes B class, named F-Cells whose batteries can be charged with electricity from the power outlet houses.
Hyundai also showcased an electric version of the i10 model. I10 electric model is planned to begin production on a limited basis in South Korea in 2010. Hyundai-made electric car can be charged from a regular 220 volt electrical power with an estimated time of about 5 hours to fully charge the battery or it could also use a special 415-volt charger and can charge the battery only 85% capacity within 15 minutes.
