Toyota Official Toyota Aqua Launches
MONDAY (26/12), Toyota Motor Corp. Toyota officially launched Toyota Aqua Cars in Japan. Toyota Aqua market segment targeting young children, competes with the Honda Jazz / Fitt hybrid is also targeting a similar market.
Toyota Aqua will also be marketed in the United States under the name Prius C. In Japan, this car can targeted sold some 12,000 units.
With a length of 3.9 meters, smaller than the Prius which has a length of 4.48 m, Aqua sold for 2.17 million yen, 22% cheaper than the selling price of the Prius.
In the U.S., the Prius C in respect 1.69 million yen or about U.S. $ 21,700 per unit.
Honda Jazz / Fit, sold in a version of the petrol engine and hybrid, the Prius has been defeated in the last six months of this year in Japan. The amount of demand for Jazz / Fit due to high consumer demand on a small vehicle fuel efficiency.
Toyota launched the Toyota Aqua to meet sales targets electric-powered cars in the global market by 20%.
Toyota will raise the selling price of the Toyota Prius and Aqua offer cheaper prices in order to meet the demand for environmentally friendly cars that are cheaper and smaller.
